Last summer, I had the opportunity to go to Gallup, New Mexico for a mission trip with College Mission Company. This mission trip completely changed my life and helped me to grow not only as a person, but also as a child of God. The people that I encountered, and the friendships made on this trip were incredible. We stayed with the Little Sisters of the
Poor for two weeks. These women had such open arms and were so welcoming to all of us. They showed each one of us how to truly love and how amazing the Lord is when you are open to his love. They were constantly putting others first and allowing God to work through them. It was beautiful to watch them do God’s work and to see how joyful they were.
Many of the people that we met who lived on the reservation had absolutely nothing, but they were still willing to offer whatever they had to us. This was an eye-opening experience to me. They were all so thankful for everything that they had, and that ended up teaching me more than I could have ever taught them. I could see God working through every person that I encountered on this trip. Each person that I met on this trip taught me about the beauty of life and everything that God has to offer.
This mission trip was one of the best experiences of my life. I am eternally thankful for the lifelong friendships that I have made and for every person that I had the pleasure of meeting on this trip. Everyone that I met on this trip will always hold a special place in my heart. I encourage everyone to go on a mission trip if you are given the opportunity. I would not be the person I am today if I had not been on this mission trip with such amazing people. I am so grateful for College Missions Company and am so happy that I had the opportunity to experience such a special mission trip.
